A brief history of Bridal
Warehouse

In 1988, more than two decades ago, Bobbie's
Fabrics opened in Elizabethtown Kentucky. The
business was very successful and became well known in
central Kentucky. The knowledge gained within the fabric
business proved invaluable in what was
to come.

Some of the main items purchased from the fabric store
were materials to make
wedding attire. Realizing a growing need in Central
Kentucky for a full service bridal store, the focus
of the fabric store shifted and morphed into
Bobbie's Bridal. The bridal store grew quickly due
to excellent customer service and hard work.
Times changed and a new trend was noticed. Many
brides did not want to order their gown, they wanted
their gown immediately.
Customers wanted to have
more selection of gowns
and styles. Customers also wanted to try on a gown that
fit them, not just look at a sample on a hanger.
Bridal Warehouse opened in Louisville, Kentucky in
1994 ( with thousands of square feet full of designer
wedding gowns). It was an immediate success. Each
superstore location has over one thousand bridal and
destination gowns from the world's best formal
designers. The entire wedding party is catered to. Brides maids, mothers and flower girls each have a
huge selection to choose from. Each location
also features over one thousand prom, pageant and special
occasion gowns and dresses. Bridal Warehouse is a
unique experience that caters to you.
Now, some sixteen years later, Bridal Warehouse
has expanded to four bridal superstores and
a new bridal/prom/tux boutique store.

To ensure all of the wedding party has proper attire,
including the guys, Tuxedo Avenue was opened in
2001. Tux Ave is a full service tuxedo store with the largest
selection of fashion styles available, and conveniently
located
inside each Bridal Warehouse. Not just a couple
of tuxedos in the corner of a bridal store, but a 2,000
square foot tuxedo retail store providing the same
quality service and product for the men as Bridal
Warehouse has for the ladies.
Seeing
the need for an up to date fashion forward line of
shoes the Bridal Warehouse design team went to work
and created a new wholesale shoe line called 'Your
Party Shoes'. The team met with our manufacturer in
May of 2010 and the new shoe line was launched. Your
Party Shoes was marketed to Bridal Stores from
across the country at the Atlanta Prom Market in
August of 2010 and at the National Bridal Market in
Chicago in October of 2010. Our customers love the
new
shoe line
and we all look forward to next
seasons new designs.
The
Savvi Tuxedo Group invited Tuxedo Avenue to attend
their annual meeting in the summer of 2010. The
Savvi membership committee was seeking companies to
join the group and Tuxedo Avenue was highly recommend
by several tuxedo vendors. The group was a perfect
fit for Tuxedo Avenue. Tuxedo Avenue will now be
marketed as Tuxedo Avenue a proud member of Savvi.
We now join over 300 Savvi stores from across the
United States allowing us to serve our customers
anywhere in the country. In February of 2011 the
owner of Savvi Owensboro Kentucky sold his
operations to Tuxedo Avenue. Tuxedo Avenue now has
six tuxedo stores in three states. The Owensboro
location will retain the Savvi name and be call
Savvi Formalwear by Tuxedo Avenue.
